    Show your Strats

My very slightly used Gio Ibanez super Strat type auxiliary guitar (for camping or risky environments). $96! I don’t worry about it much. Actually a decent guitar.

    My philosophy for guitars

I have less than a half-dozen currently. There are keepers. ‘Course, I’ve had keepers that I didn’t keep as long as I thought I would. At one point I had probably a dozen, but that was years ago. The mo$t I ever had into an only guitar was $5700 in a used Gibson L5. I don’t need that much...

How many hours do you practice each day ?

I wouldn’t call what I do practicing. I play some everyday just to keep my chops up and my fingers from galling at the joints. It’s more like meditation. I’m an old geezer. Got nothing to prove (except that maybe I still can play at a level that satisfies me).

How many hours do you practice each day ?

“…I don’t practice. I just open up the guitar case once in a while and throw in some raw meat.” -Wes Montgomery

Getting outside the hose is a good thing.

Any of you all have been or are competitive shooters?

I hate indoor commercial ranges. Great places if you want to get muzzled though.

Any of you all have been or are competitive shooters?

One ragged hole drills are impressive, but I’m now past the shelf life. Haven’t shot anything in a couple years. Rust never sleeps.

Any of you all have been or are competitive shooters?

About ten years ago I was shooting IDPA competitions, with friends. Loaded tons of .45ACP and between practice and weekend matches was sending about 1200 rounds down range per week, in the summer. My Wilson Combat Elite Pro got quite a workout. Ran 100%! I managed to get to Sharpshooter, before...

Your 'Weapons of Choice' for today....[pics preferred]

Yeah, they’re rude too. Just like me. Play a clam? Everybody will hear it. Leave out a note? Everybody will notice. Stab notes to death like Roy Buchanan? You’ll earn yourself a nickname. Ask me how I know.

Your 'Weapons of Choice' for today....[pics preferred]

I gigged a Tele for decades. They’re like a natural extension of my arms & hands. :)

    Different string gauge per guitar

All four of my guitars are Gibson 24.75” scale length. Different pickups: different formulas, but each are 0.010” - 0.046” generally EB’s these days. Some cobalt flat wound, or Reg Slinky, or Classic (nickel wound) Slinky. They feel very similar ( same setup), except my SG, which sticks out to...

Meeting with the FujiGen Founder Family [ FGN (FujiGen) Guitars Information Thread ]

Interesting stuff! Wasn’t much of a history kid, unless I could relate to it. After my military service I became very interested in the history of various technologies (I was an electronics technician in the US Navy), and broadened my interests in history in general. Very cool thread! 🤙
