If you were to use a leather strap right from the get go, you would never know an SG had neck dive unless you were scrolling through the internetYou're admitting they do have neck dive, with possible solutions to counter it, but still you say "those who say" are completely wrong ? I don't mind it since I mostly play sitting, but I get why some don't want to bother.
Then they should be sold with one.If you were to use a leather strap right from the get go, you would never know an SG had neck dive unless you were scrolling through the internet
We will have to get in contact with Gibson brands and get them to include an "Anti neck dive" leather strap to go with your new SG purchaseThen they should be sold with one.
Me too. I like the bigger necks, vs slim fast ‘60’s.I prefer the SG Stanard over the 61…
Well, I can play both, but prefer the Standard’s neck. However, the SG Special that I’m thinking about has the thinner profile, and the neck joint is further toward the bridge. I almost bought one of the Specials the other day, but I’m going to wait awhile. I have two cars to register by the middle of December. I will do one tomorrow, and the new car should be here by the the 15th of December.Me too. I like the bigger necks, vs slim fast ‘60’s.
That's because yours has the maestro vibrola which the SG was designed to have. When they started making models without the trem, the neck dive started which as I've stated can be fixed with a leather or suede strapI suppose I’ve been fortunate. Neck dive has never been an issue for me. Not even with this… regardless of the strap.

I added this lately. But for sure. If the dive is a problem, increase the coefficient of friction. That's because yours has the maestro vibrola which the SG was designed to have.
