What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

It works. Does what they say. Sounds like a P-90 and all, but. I’m a geezer with too much time on my hands. If there’s one thing I’m sure about: it’s my opinions!

What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

Well, at least not in the neck position as 5% underwound in this particular guitar. Initially fine, but as I lived with it a while I started noticing I was trying to dial out a bit of “fragile” high end. I asked if there was any problem shunting off the dummy coil. Turns out they just reverse...

What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

I can hear something in the treble freqs that requires judicious dialing out: Lindy Fralin HC90 It sounds good, but I ordered a standard P-90 from him to replace it anyway. Having a hidden coil takes something away I can’t quite put my finger on, but can hear. $125. Again, not a bad sounding...

    What was the best ...

When I was playing outdoor concert volume rock&roll, Ampeg V4, 4X12, and a Telecaster. Awesome rig at the time. Those days are long gone, but the tinnitus remains. Best sounding? Now, by far! Quilter Aviator, and a slab P-90 (in two iterations):

    Thinning the herd ?

Certainly have, repeatedly. They’re like Tribles (old Star Trek episode). They breed like them. I’m always cutting back and thinning the stable. Then my GAS addiction sees “something I’ve always wanted!” At the current moment I’ve mercilessly cut it down to just two: But one on order is coming...

No. Regular production Special c 2018. Not the vintage version. Has circuit board mounted pots, Nashville TOM bridge, etc. Extremely light belly carve contour. I’ve had Tributes, and also the current production TV Yellow ‘57, w neck binding, wrap tail, and hand wired controls. Though it was a...

    SG neck dive

Me too. I like the bigger necks, vs slim fast ‘60’s.

    SG neck dive

Not all SG’s suffer with this. I’ve had some that did, and were a pain sometimes. Also had about an equal number that were zero or negligible. Some need a leather strap and caution. Some are fine with nylon web (Earnie Ball) type straps. No neck dive on this one, even with Grover machines:
