Well pull that puppy out and play it. It's gotta be pretty lonesome hiding in that corner.

    Show Your Number One Amp

It dawns on me that I actually do have a #1 bass amp. This thing is unbelievably tiny but it puts out 175w @ 8 ohms into the 10" speaker in the cab. I plan to add a 112 cab beneath it to take advantage of the total 350w @ 4 ohms. The head attaches to the cab with a cradle to create the MG 350...

    NGD!

Your son is a lucky man. My Pop did buy me my very first bass back in 1965. It was a $35 used Silvertone Dolphin Bass with a single lipstick pickup. All the rest of my gear after that was on me but I will always give him credit for giving me the opportunity to become a player. Casinos are...

What would you like to see added on GT?

Good choice. Strings alone may not get as much traffic as having a catch all for them along with other accessories, parts, and gee gaws.

"Born in Chicago"......and I was too. Paul Butterfields band was one of my influences as far as turning away from pop rock and heading more toward blues and r&b.

Fine by me Alex. I'll let others suggest a title for it.

What would you like to see added on GT?

Good question. If the objective is to create the broadest cross section of membership possible having individual forums for other instruments would be a good idea. Conversely those instruments tend to have their own forums elsewhere. As it stands we may want to have just one forum for...

A prize contest in which I am the automatic winner? That work for you Alex? :ROFLMAO:

There were no posts here yet so I figured I'd start the ball rolling. When you've played as long as I have there have been favored bands and artists from nearly every decade but if I had to choose the one who has bridged nearly all of them in would be Van Morrison. At one time I had every...

Gotta get over here as well and build up some membership. The best way to do that is to keep the lights on and encourage a whole lot of active posting. Glad to see you online Alex and thanks for cranking this place up for us. We should have some fun here.

Yup, this is what bands are running into and have for quite awhile. A few years ago the keyboard player I gigged with for 25 years and I set up a duo to play a few open mics at a local brew pub. They asked us if we wanted a regular gig on week nights. We said yeah we'd do an every Wednesday...

    Show Your Number One Amp

Guess I shouldn't ignore the smallest and lightest amp I've ever owned. From the same people who built Rusty's Quilter this little beast is a legit 25w amp in a pedal with three separate voicings of late 50s to mid 60s classic Fender amps and they are damn accurate emulations too. It's pretty...

    My Favorite Tele Partsocaster

Beautiful work Rusty. Very similar to the clone of my CS Nocaster than was created out of a 2006 Nashville Deluxe body and neck. Most people couldn't tell the two apart. After that I had a few friends ask me to build Teles and Esquires for them out of parts. There's probably nothing easier...

Welcome to our Gear Talk community!

It amazes me that today bands are getting far less than we got 25-30 years ago. The dance clubs are gone and with them the 2-3 night weekend gigs we scored for $1500-$2100 a weekend. Now the only way to get paid like that is to play private gigs like I did back in the 80s. My son-in-law is in...
