What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

Ordered a Seymour Duncan Antiquity bridge pickup for the new Les Paul. It currently has an Antiquity neck and Seth Lover bridge pickup so the Seth Lover is coming out and it'll go into another guitar. Free overnight shipping means it'll be here tomorrow!

Got that installed and all I can say is I'm done looking for pickups. This bridge pickup is exactly what I was looking for. It's actually usable for anything, IMO. Lead. Rhythm. Whatever. I can't say the same for the Seth Lover or the 59 bridge pickups in my other guitars.

The aged magnet really mellows it out and smooths out all the peakiness, for lack of a better word. I could tell from the first note that this is exactly what I've been wanting without knowing it. I love the way it sounds. And here I was not expecting to be able to tell a difference between it and the Seth Lover it replaced.

Nuttin' I'm actually thinking about listing one of my basses for sale on FB Marketplace and CL. I could ship it but prefer not to. Shipping costs have become outrageous even via discount shippers.

Great prices on those strings. I am getting ready to place another big electric strings order.

I can hear something in the treble freqs that requires judicious dialing out:
Lindy Fralin HC90

It sounds good, but I ordered a standard P-90 from him to replace it anyway.
Having a hidden coil takes something away I can’t quite put my finger on, but can hear.
$125.
Again, not a bad sounding pickup at all. Just not what I’m used to

Interesting since I believe Fralin P90s are the best I've ever heard. So the noiseless version didn't do it eh?

Well, at least not in the neck position as 5% underwound in this particular guitar.
Initially fine, but as I lived with it a while I started noticing I was trying to dial out a bit of “fragile” high end.
I asked if there was any problem shunting off the dummy coil.
Turns out they just reverse direction at some point on the main coil without a separate coil scheme.
So they’re making a standard P-90 for me.

So no dummy coil at all? That's a different approach.

Stewmac is having their Black Friday sale so I picked up a few things. Their original Z files with the handle are 50% off right now. $52 instead of $105 so I bought a standard Z file. I already have a compact "centered Z file" so I went for the offset original.

Ordered a wide concave fret end file. 3mm wide for wide frets. I have the standard fret end file already. Surprisingly, this file is actually cheaper on Amazon than their website. $52 plus free shipping at Amazon vs $55 plus $13 shipping on their website if you don't have a SM membership.

Ordered a "pot cap cleaner" that let's you clean pots by forcing the spray through the shaft and bushing. That way you don't have to take guitars apart to clean dirty & scratchy pots.

Ordered a new can of Deoxit since they're selling it in regular spray cans again finally. The new can has a 'Low/Med/High' spray setting that adjusts the pressure and amount of Deoxit that comes out. We'll see how that lasts.

Ordered a new Boss DS1 for $62

Ordered a DemonFX Gladiator pedal, based on the Gladio pedal. That pedal emulates Robben Fords Dumble Tone on 1 side and someone elses on the 2nd side.

Not all of those were in the last 48 hrs. There's more but I don't recall what, ATM.

Got a 2-pack of Ernie Ball Paradigm 10-52 strings.

Ordered some more 'clown barf' picks from Banjo Ben's.

Ordered a regular Z-file from Stewmac while theyre on sale for 50% off. $52 is WAYYYYYY better than $105 👌

Still on sale. $58 at Amazon

Maybe something else.

Just ordered a harmonizer pedal lol.

I'd been looking for one a while ago and finally decided that I didn't need one. So I gave up on that. Well yesterday, I came across a vid where this guy demo'd a few and showed different ways to use them and it restoked the flame. The guys youtube name is Cyberattack. He does some pretty good content usually.

It's a cheapie. VSN Harmonizer. I think its a Boss clone pretty much.

Edit: no it's not a boss clone. It's just a basic pitch shifter. The Pic is missing the 3 way switch at the top to switch between up, down, and detune.
