Just ordered a Ross Two Notes Captor X 8 ohm reactive load box attenuator thing. Picked it up on Reverb for $315 +tax & shipping. I almost bought a new 1st Gen Ross Two Notes Captor 8 ohm for only $50 less until I checked Reverb.
I'd much rather have a barely used Captor X for $50 more.
Well that started me down the rabbit hole.
I now have TWO Tonex pedals, the larger pedal and the smaller 'One', and I just ordered a new FRFR speaker made by Headrush. It's their FRFR-112, their 12 inch, 2500w speaker. And I have 500+ plugins for my DAW, Reaper, now. Started with like 60 lol!
So, I had planned on buying a Marshall amp for my bday on the 20th but that's on hold now that I have this stuff. I've found some really great Marshall captures as well as a bunch of other amps, so that's why I doubled down with these Tonex pedals and ordered a new FRFR speaker.
They sound pretty good through the power amp in my Hot Rod Deluxe but I'd like to see how they sound through a proper FRFR speaker. I started considering the Harbinger V1112 but it seems that Harbinger is Guitar Center's house brand of equipment and it leaves a lot to he desired as far as quality is concerned. So I skipped those and looked at Alto speakers after someone said Alto is a step up from Harbinger.
Then I decided I wasn't going to compromise this time and I was going to buy what I wanted since it's my bday. So I ordered the 2500w Headrush 12 inch FRFR speaker. I just hope this is what I'm looking for. On all the demos I've watched, people constantly bring up "this isn't the same as using a 4x12 cab if you use a 4x12 IR. It doesn't replace a cab so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't it. This won't replace a guitar cab"
Ok, so then what's it doing?
