The end of an era ...

If you want a truly vintage Marshall tone, Marshall is the last place I’d look.

I think the Vintage Modern was one of the last “true” Marshall amps. IMO of course.

I have an Original 50 head with two 4x12 cabs. It’s what I call the poor man’s Plexi. It can run at 5,25, and 50 watts. No standby switch. With an MXR Distortion+ and a slight boost in front of he amp you get that Randy Rhoad’s tone from the first Ozzie album. Straight in to the amp and crank it, you get vintage AC/DC.

I bought the head and cabs during the pandemic. I paid $450 for the head, $350 for the slant cab and $400 for the straight cab. Good Celestion speakers in it as well. Sounds awesome.

It’s funny, but my Origin was made in Vietnamese IIRC. Hopefully they will still make the good stuff in England.

The entire world will soon be owned by private equity firms who have no obligation to their shareholders. I don't see this as a good thing.

In before the wok!

I have a JCM602, an Origin 50C, and many pedals. If I cannot find vintage Marshall, it’s ‘cause I’m not trying.

I used the dirty channel on my JCM 602 for many, many years... I still have it but its retired. I played all over NYC, NJ, and Philly with that amp, it went through a LOT!

Was in the repair shop a few times, all for road abuse. Reverb tank broke, a knob or two got snapped off, etc...

The tolex has a bunch of tears on it... I'll never sell it, although I haven't used it much since the early 2000s.

No one would really buy it in the condition its currently in, lol..
