Yeah. To begin with it's actually a P/J pickup setup with a blend knob in the electronics and a custom bridge whereas a standard PBass has only the split coil neck pickup and just a volume and tone control. They're about is stripped down simple as it gets but nothing else sounds or records quite like one which makes it a gotta have one for most bassists.

I remember he was in some band for a while - Darkstar or Dogstar or something like that. He may be decent. At least I don't see him opening for Limp Biscuit.

Just looked up his band on Youtube and here are a couple of videos. Named Dogstar. Sounds very much like my all-original band back in the '90s - maybe like a high-end garage band. Keaunu just looks like a normal bass player here to me, he's not the star and he doesn't seem to want attention.
