I just called Gibson Customer Service yesterday. I had one string in a Pack of their 9-42 reinforced strings that had a kink in it (the High E) and they were A-OK to deal with. I just called them last month about a defective bridge for an Epiphone. It arrived in 5 days. Easy to deal with. I had called them a couple times before and service was prompt. They sent me parts that I needed.

I told the guy about the Forum and he’s going to check it out.

Nice to hear a good CS report for a change. Maybe the new ownership is finally getting some old issues resolved and interested in getting their rep restored.

My strings finally came the day before Turkey Day. They were out of them I guess. But they did deliver, it just took longer than expected.

You know what's weird? I mentioned Two Notes Captor on ST the other day and the very next comment was from the owner of Two Notes, Ross, thanking me for considering the Captor. Apparently he signed up like a month prior and had been posting here and there and saw my post. Surprised the mess out of me.

How are Gibsons strings? I've never used them. I do have a set of D'addario 11-49 half rounds coming tomorrow. Gonna try those again, in 11s this time.

That's wise and just plain good business. It shows you care about your buyers.

We probably don't have all that many bassists here but in the Genzler Amplification Club thread on TalkBass Jeff Genzler is a very frequent poster often chiming in to answer members questions directly or just thanking someone for buying Genzler gear. His former partner Andy (AgedHorse) who now designs Mesa bass amps also chimes in from time to time giving technical advice and suggestions.

We've all experienced how some forums can deteriorate into bad blood and arguing between members but within some of the product specific club threads is incredibly helpful info from both users and the products actual designers and builders. It gives you a good feeling about supporting that product line. It's just a shame more manufacturers haven't learned to do this. It's smart business.
