If so, which kind? I currently have 7 Hercules hangers and 1 String Swing. I'm considering swapping out all of my Hercules hangers for String Swing for peace of mind after seeing multiple broken Hercules hangers and ZERO broken String Swing hangers. So I was curious what everybody else uses.

My guitars weren't very expensive but I'd be beside myself if one fell and busted. So I bought a String Swing hanger to try out since I've used Hercules hangers since I started playing in January of 2020. The oldest are from 2019.

So what kind of guitar wall hangers do you all use if you use wall hangers? If you use something other than Hercules or String Swing, comment what you use.

Thanks!

I have several, but forget what brand they were. Most of them I got for free from a pay it forward thread over at Strat Talk. more importan is using the right anchor in the wall board IMO.

I didn't. I always kept my instruments in their cases when I wasn't playing or tinkering. I didn't see any reason to put additional stress on a neck. A carry over from my experience with a new fender that came complete with a warped neck. Regardless of whether such contributed to the condition or not, "it left a mark." Kinda like my aversion to BMW's...*

If I were to ever consider a wall mount, the hanger would be cork lined, not foam, vinyl or rubber and it would be supported by something substantially stronger than drywall ... that wasn't along an "outside wall."

*...got hit head on by a drunk while driving a 2002tii. It probably saved my butt in the way the engine rolled down and under instead of pushing through and landing on my lap, and...

I'll never get in one again. Wasn't the car's fault but the psychological connection is indelible.

I know all about that. I thought Toyota Camry's were safe cars until my child was killed in one in a car accident/wreck. I'll never ride in another one after what happened. This one was basically new. It was a 2012, IIRC and the wreck happened in 2014. They were still selling the same body style/Model at that time. So it was basically the same car as the 2014s.

i've no words. nothing i could possibly say would come close to expressing the empathy and sorrow that learning this wrapped around me.
i simply can't imagine...
i can only wish you peace.

One of my Hercules hangers is starting to mark a maple necked guitar with black grime. The foams are pretty worn down. I've cleaned the foams a few times to see if it helps. It doesn't. Fortunately it seems to wipe of my guitar. I thought of swapping out mine (I have 3) for String Swings - wondered if the mounting holes were the same spacing on the Hercules and the String Swing? Being able to just swap the hercules for the string swing, re-using the same holes and threads in my wall/studs would make the swap simpler.

Nope, String Swing is wider. I reused one hole and just drilled another. Since the String Swing is wider than Hercules, the old Hercules hole is hidden behind the String Swing hanger. So I just used one old Hercules hole and drilled 1 new hole .

After 3 months, I'm still not used to the String Swing hanger. I'm just so used to the Hercules moving with the guitar when you lift it and put it back. And I used it as my main hanger so it's not like it's in the corner, never having a guitar taken out and returned back. I do it multiple times per day.

I want to buy another Hercules to replace it but I'm afraid of them breaking like Ive seen others' Hercules hangers do. I've had some of mine going on 5 years. I check em all regularly. I have 7 and 1 String Swing hanger. I need a 9th hanger for the Sonic Blue Strat I just built and I'm trying to decide what to buy: another Hercules or String Swing.
