Any bass players in the house? Show me your bass thread!

Sorry, I am not a bass-player...

though I do own a bass, even a rare one.....

It is a prototype, made around 2010 for the Frankfurt Musik-Messe,
sadly never went into regular production.
There is another one in sunburst and a black one with flames owned by a musician in Finland

I bet that has a wicked sound, with the Jazz pickup in the bridge and humbucker in the neck. Is it fully hollow or semi-hollow?

Only thing I take personal responsibility for is my guitar playing, definitely not a serious bass player. I bought my first about 20 years ago to lay down tracks. Ended up playing only bass for two years. Now I just use them for laying down tracks or to rock out at the occasional jam session when we're short a bassist.

I've got two basses right now. A SS Fender Player Mustang and a lightweight parts P-bass I put together (each weighs around 7 lbs). Amps are a Gallien Krueger MB115 and a Fender Rumble 40. I sold the Bassman/Peavey/SWR monstrosity in the pic a while ago; sounded great, probably weighed about 200 lbs for the whole stack though. My GK has a neodymium speaker; weighs 38 lbs.

One thing I have learned since making the shift to guitar as a primary instrument; guitar is way harder to play than bass lol. Sure, bass can be hard to play for a beginner (as any instrument should be) but in regards to the skill needed, bass is a cake walk compared to guitar. I have been having so much fun over the past 4 years playing guitar that bass has become an afterthought. I can say however, that playing guitar as my main instrument has improved my bass playing incredibly (when I do play it). I play bass with both finger style and pick, and my pick ability on bass is better than it's ever been thanks to guitar. I can also learn songs and riffs on bass way faster since picking up guitar, which is a huge plus! I still love bass, but I think I love guitar just a tad bit more lol!

I should add that bass was my primary instrument for 15 or so years (on and off) just so what I said has a bit more context.

I might be the only one here whose primarily a bassist and have been my entire career. I've also played guitar in a few bands and at hundreds of jams but never as the sole guitarist on stage. As a guitarist I'm strictly a rhythm and riff player not the hot soloist.

I also had a G&L Kiloton which I sold last weekend. Eventually it will be replaced by it's fretless version.
