€piphone History

Great read. Although Epiphone as a company is long gone, it’s cool that Gibson respects the heritage and reintroduces things like the Masterbilt line decades later.

AFAIK, it's actually not long gone. Epiphone as a company still exists. They're a subsidiary of Gibson.

A subsidiary is a company owned by another company.

🤷

Yup. Epiphone is alive and well based in Nashville and has their very own manufacturing facility in China. Gibson isn't just having product built for them carrying the Epiphone name as they did years ago. Given how good the product is Epi is more like a competitor than ever it's just that all of it's profits are going into Gibson's pocket.
