    The Final Black Sabbath Show

That’s what I’m hearing. It’s an all day festival with Metallica, Slayer and a bunch of acts playing. I heard there’s supposed to be some sort of jam with a bunch of players from different bands. It would be really cool if Ozzy could join Jake and Rudy but we’ll see.

    The Final Black Sabbath Show

I'm so tempted to try to get tickets and fly out there for the weekend to see this. Hopefully they can pull off a great show. I'm curious if Ozzy will come out and play with Jake and Rudy. It looks like a great lineup all around.

The 2024 King Crimson BEAT tour

Thanks! I'll definitely check this out. Pretty stoked to see Danny Carey handle the drums.

    YYZ - Rush

Happy new year! This one was actually the last song I recorded for 2024. Like any Rush song I attempt, it's not without its flaws but I'm still happy to get it close. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and safe 2025! YYZ - Rush

“The country a guitar is made in does not matter much”

The Epi’s have been grabbing my attention lately. I owned a mid 90s LP model (I forget the year but it was when they started making them again) which was MIK and it was decent but lacking in areas (pickups, pots, tuners). The Epi Adam Jones LP has really grabbed my attention and it looks like...

“The country a guitar is made in does not matter much”

For me it’s less about where it’s made and more about what it’s made of. Import models are often made with lesser quality components than their American counterparts but even that gap is closing.

    Schism - Tool

I'm back with another Tool song. It seems lately every 3rd or 4th tune I do is by them as I plod onward in my quest to learn every one. This one might be one of their best known even by those who don't follow the band. Schism - Tool

My son is at the Night Ranger show tonight!

I can’t speak for Brad’s guitar but mine stays remarkably in tune even without the locking nut. My PRS was similar. I’ve played FR guitars for years but I’ve since grown to prefer the feel without the locking nut.

My son is at the Night Ranger show tonight!

I’m with @BGood. Fess up the secrets unless you took some blood oath. :D I was actually just watching some video with Gillis talking about his #1 with the 3rd ever Floyd Rose. My Charvel has a similar bridge designed after the original FRs without the fine tuners but as I don’t have a locking...

    Wisdom of the Old

Education is wonderful but it can't replace experience which can only be provided by time. When our elders speak, we should listen.

The Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring

My wife usually bails midway through as well. My playing gives her stomach cramps. :D

The Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring

Not much to say about this one other than after learning an 11 minute song, I wanted my next one to be something a bit simpler that doesn't hurt my brain. This was also a good opportunity to work on getting my right hand down-picking back up to speed as I don't play in this style as much these...

    Satan's Fall - Mercyful Fate

Thanks 3B! There were plenty of dodgy spots but overall I was happy to get through it all.

    Satan's Fall - Mercyful Fate

This one has been been a bucket list song of mine since the time it was released (1983). Given the title of the song and the length, I'm assuming this one won't have many takers but if you're curious, this is a great example of early 80s metal that still has a lot of elements popular in 70s hard...

New Girl Now - Honeymoon Suite

I'm not too familiar with those particular KC albums but this tour did get my attention when Danny Carey and Steve Vai signed on. I've seen a few live clips and Carey has been pretty impressive on the drums.

New Girl Now - Honeymoon Suite

Thanks 3B! Pretty cool. I’ve seen they’re still playing here and there. There was a lot of 80s music I largely ignored back in the day. I’ve slowly been rediscovering it and much of it is pretty damned good.
