I used to be an amp guy more than a guitar guy...since I bought the boogie I've not gassed for an amp...like you say, versatile...now I just buy guitars...and play 'em through the boogie...

I've never got on with the necks on the SGs I've had...funky epiphone D shapey thingy...the neck on that monkey sounds more like it to me...

I play almost every day with few exceptions...sometimes up to 3 hours, other times not long if I'm not feeling it...I never really "practice"...I just play what I feel...I'm old, retired and just do what the hell I want...

This is what I have...I use the amp footswitch, tuner, Flanger and the Carbon Copy...the rest are there to take up space...probably ought to try something like what @PeteR has...

I am an MXR Carbon Copy guy...I think it sounds glorious...is why I've never tried any other delay...would like a good swampy tremolo though...
