This one has been tested against the Joyo and it seem to have a little something better. I don't remember where I saw it though :)

It might look aesthetically better on top of the cab, but if you have a hard time dealing with it, why not place it differently. It is not a very complicated amp, you'll probably get used to what's what in no time. I guess guitarists played hidden in the back of their amp when that was designed :D
