Try spray cleaning the switch. A 25 year old switch might have oxydized or something. I would think it is only dirty. Deoxit is your friend for this.

Thanks. Not intentionally climbing really, just an incredible deal I couldn't pass up. I had a Special Faded and a Tribute in the recent years, but they didn't stick. I didn't like the Seymour Duncans "upgrades" that came in it, I put in a set of Probuckers and it now sings real nice.

Since I put the Tyson Tone pickups in there, it is pretty much my daily ride.
