Hmmmm......gotta think on this one. Just guitars, basses, and amp though. I'm not gonna include little stuff and pedals.

Incoming

PRS SE David Grissom Model
Fender Baja Telecaster
Epiphone Les Paul Special P90
Sire U5 Shortscale Bass
Genzler MG350 Bass Combo

Outgoing

Fender 60s Telecaster Custom
Epiphone Casino
G&L Comanche
G&L Kiloton Bass
TC RH750 Bass Head
Carvin BX500 Bass Head
Epifani UL2 Series 212 Bass Cab

I came out ahead on the buys vs sells so I won't feel bad at all when I add a second bass cab to my Genzler MG350 Combo. They're still pretty damn pricey so I'm shopping for a deal if I can find one.

Curiosity has gotten the best of me. Did you not like the Casino Worn?

I will admit to being an amateur in places like these, also in terms of suffering from GAS, but I have almost been sure about this evolving into a p******* contest of sorts very soon. :)

However, I didn't even bother mentioning a host of smaller items that I have purchased all through the year, as for instance a whole lot of maintenance stuff, such as various tools, and accessories of all kinds of things such as cases and bags, cables, strings and, well, pics, not mentioning a MIDI keyboard, recording and DAW software, and then probably a lot more.

Thing being also, I can always justify smaller boxes coming in to the Mrs, but whenever a bigger box with a guitar in it is being delivered, questions will be asked, for which I better have an answer.

So just to give an idea of my whereabouts, this is how a conversation between the Mrs and me went recently.

Mrs: "What's with all those wires hanging loosely from the guitar on the kitchen table?"

Me: "We call them strings."

Mrs: "I always assumed that, if you buy a new guitar, you can play it right away without fiddling around with it no end."

Me: "This is only half of the truth. A guitar basically is like a sports car. Half of the time, you enjoy driving it, and you spend the rest of the time with it under the hood."

LOL.....my former bride never asked and only seemed to care if it somehow prevented her from getting something she wanted. It never did.

My response to the "loosely hanging wires would probably have been something like.......".

"I got a really good deal on it but as you can see......there are always strings attached".

Oh no. Y'all just too literal? LOL

Not at all. In German, as in any other language, we have our share of metaphors, too, but there are always just so many which are compatible back and forth, and "strings attached" isn't one of them, as the meaning would get lost in translation.

Oh boy, lets see, this year I acquired:
Chickenbacker 330 copy
Gretsch 5120
Epoch LP special
DDH LP-style
Peavey Red Stripe Bandit (amp)
Gretsch shoulder bag

I divested myself of:
Danelectro SC-1
Oscar-Schmidt 12-string acoustic
Gretsch Duo-jet
One Home-built Red Special
Mustang-style guitar
Frankenstrat
Squier VM thinline tele
Chickenbacker 330 copy
Odessa Dove
Grote hollowbody jazz guitar
Epoch LP Special
1964 Fender Princeton (amp)
Fender Champion 30 (amp)
Mooer hornet (amp)

Four guitars and one amp in, eleven guitars and three amps out
Thinning the herd, slowly, but surely! (still have 9 myself, and Chloedog's mom has 16 ;))

I only bought two this year. Epiphone IBG ES335 and Epiphone Casino in Denim Blue. I sold over 20 this year though. I am down to 14 guitars. I am not going to order any more until next year around Spring when all of my bills are paid off.

Dig in and dig out.

update:

and another one is on the way, it might get the first NuGD for the new year

I always wanted one of them since they came out some years ago - though I didn't want to spend €2000 on a new one
finally I catched an used one for a more than great price
