It does sound better that color. I play it through a 2X10" cab.

Oh wow. I didn't realize you had a 1st gen MP15. Nice!

The current model just jumped in price by $100 in the last couple of weeks. From 2019 to 2024, it went up a total of $30, from $249 to $279. I actually got mine for $200 on sale in 2020. It was $249, on, sale for 20%(or $50) off.

Then it took basically 1 day to jump another $100. That's messed up.

Finished the latest assembly.
Strat 12 string. Warmoth Soloist body in ash-trans black on the back-trans brown on the front, Musickraft roasted flame neck-V profile-ebony board-mop dots-brown and amber stain, Rose vintage style pickups-blender mod, Schaller tuners-Schaller knobs, Gotoh bridge.

I’ll be playing this for the next few days. Three amps in unison.

I like it.
And of course the amp in the middle...but you know that already. Those other two? Good for clearing out the ear wax I suppose.

I’ve been A/B testing between the TM Twin and the Super. The Twin sounds a bit sterile. The Super more full. And it seems when I engage the Marshal, it just takes away from the character of the Super. Subjective terms, I know. But such a nice tone from the Super.

The Twin, of course does the Fender clean tones very well. The Marshal, very versatile, warm, clean to mean. And the Super has a punch. I think the four speakers helps.

So glad to have the Super. :D

The Super has a sound like no other. And its growl is spectacular.

I too have noticed that when using an ABY or ABC to send to multiple amps, whenever I engaged two or three at once I'd get a change in the flavor of them...and because the Super's flavor is so unique, it was the change I felt the most.

In big shows, I was often run through a thing called Whirlwind. Apparently it was very good at separating signals. And priced accordingly.

Both Radial and Lehle make devices that are good at cleaning up and isolating cross-feeds too, and I think they're a bit more realistically priced.

I was poking at this for a bit today...I suppose it's only a brief interlude before I put it on the market too...20230427_131648.jpg

...it deserves to sing as intended...

Such a beauty.

Is there a story behind the flipped bridge pickup?
just a failed attempt to mitigate the highend. hoped that moving the "pole pieces" a bit further from the bridge might smooth out what, to my ear, is a shrillness that adds nothing but tears to ....

i digress

I've never been a fan of the sound of the bridge pickup on any guitar...

unlike single coils, the field of a paf is both more intense and unidirectional. to achieve what I wanted would require moving the entire pickup closer to the neck. and, there's already a pickup there.

So in the unlikely event I were to use the bridge pickup, the tone and volume would be such that it remained inaudible.

Ooh! Very nice. Newish? Seems to me we were talking about these not too long ago.

I've got it used some weeks ago,
could not resist at half the regular price, including an original hardcase

Dang. Don’t know how I missed that. I just caught up on the Sigma thread.
