As some of you may know, or not, I like a parts build or two. My inate desire to tinker coupled with a desire to reduce, re-use and recycle has led me to re-build/repair a few lost causes.

My old 98 MIM body, which was my #1 for 15+ years, was laying around. I put a neck I had on it and couple of Gibson P90's i also had around. Turns out it's just as resonant as it was for all that time .........with everything different but the body!
I almost has built in reverb on the higher notes... it rings and sustains...

Warmoth Neck and Body. Body is swamp ash and neck is quarter sawn maple. Both body and neck are finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. Fender vintage style tuners and Fender American Vintage Hardtail bridge.…

Super lightweight!

Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Neck and RWRP Middle and Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Bridge. Pickups are wired into an Obsidian Wire solderless 5-way system.
 
My 2019 Classic Vibe 50s Telecaster is somewhat of a parts caster...not done by me but the previous owner...I acquired it like this...he installed the Gotoh "In-Tune" bridge with the compensated saddles, Fender Pure Vintage '64 tele pickups, CTS pots, Switchcraft switch and output jack with Electrosocket jack cup...he also copper lined all the cavities...the rest is stock...it is a smooth player...

Something Fender-like? Assembly is the only option for me:

Warmoth one-piece swamp ash body, hardtail.

Warmoth vintage / modern neck; quarter sawn maple, Macassar Ebony in 10" / 16" compound radius, abalone dots, 1.75" nut, 1" fatback, and 6105 SS frets.

Callaham hardware; vintage spec hardtail bridge, SS string ferrules, SS 50s reproduction string tree, polished neck plate with all SS screws and .017" aluminium under pickguard shield.

Warmoth jack plate with Switchcraft jack.

Greasy Groove pickguard.

Lace Sensor Holy Grail 3-pack.

Schaller M6 mini 18:1 tuners in chrome.

Mojotone 5-way blender kit.

My last assembly:

Warmoth Vortex Gibson scale conversion neck. Mahogany / Ebony with clear gloss. Fatback 1" (25mm) thick. Abalone dots. SS 6105 frets.

My own bone blank nut install.

C. F. Martin branded chrome Gotoh 14:1 tuners.

Warmoth Diamondback mahogany body in clear gloss.

Made in USA locking ABR-1 bridge, tailpiece, neck plate and Switchcraft jack from https://www.philadelphialuthiertools.com/

Mojotone '56 Quiet Coil P-90 pickups, Mojotone vintage taper 500k pots.

Homemade rosewood truss rod cover held in place by super magnets, homemade cavity cover.

My "Less Paul"- Gibson Epoch LP husk from goodwill, Wilkinson bridge, Blacktop Filtertrons from a Gretsch Electromatic Rat Rod, total refret after correcting the wavy fingerboard, shaved the neck down, fresh nut, tuners, electronics, etc. I left the dings and such on the body and gave it a flat finish. It's a fun guitar, reminds me alot of my first "good" guitar- an Epi LP Special II I had back in the mid nineties.

I did half a dozen, only have two left. Gave away the others. First was a budget Tele, second a P-Bass with a GFS body and neck. Both have Toneriders in them, both are super lightweight. The piney is 5 1/2 lbs, the P-Bass is just over 7 lbs, it's got a paulownia body.

Does resurrected junk count?

Goodwill finds. Touched up the bodies, refrets, new wiring.

Craigslist buy. Serious water damage. I think I paid 60$ for it. Just to get the pickups.
Remade the guitar anyway. Pulled the fingerboard and cleaned the truss rod. Laminated and finished the top and headstock. This neck could never take the tension. Always a severe bow.
This was completed 2018. The neck may have settled by now. I’ll get back to it one day.

All that remains of this Squire is the body.
I bought the Tele because it was green and inexpensive. An Afinity. Right out of the box I couldn’t get along with the neck nor the pickups. Gave it a new neck, BoPounder pickups, Believer did the routing and I added the trem. Push pull on each pot to split the coils. 4 way switch-N, NB parallel, NB in series, B. I’ve since passed it on to a local gal who plays out and writes. Last I heard it was her #1.
