    Tech21 TM30 - problem | edit: fixed

That's a known issue on amps that don't get much fx loop use. Stuff builds up on the jack plug and the contacts separate, causing no sound. I have silicone/rubber 6.35mm plugs in mine to hopefully keep it from happening.

Bubbles in the finish. Any suggestions?

I sanded & scraped countless mosquitos out of clear coat when I did automotive refinishing lol. It sucked every time.

59' LP Build- "Vokey Burst" Build Thread

I'm fairly certain I know exactly what you're talking about. I've also heard it described as more of a cone with the point chopped off vs a cylinder. I thought that might be what you were talking about. Thank you!

59' LP Build- "Vokey Burst" Build Thread

Could you expand on this and explain what it means? I'm amazed at the level of craftsmanship here. Incredible work! I had a pretty long post here but it got quite off-topic and sad so I decided not to post it. Short version being I wish I still had all of my dad's woodworking tools and...

Adjusting the truss rod under string tension or not

Oddly enough, I've heard multiple people say you shouldn't adjust it at all under string tension. I've never followed that advice but I continue to come across it now & then.

What is the point to a top shelf Epiphone?

As long as it's not from Gibson, it probably will be perfect out of the box lol. That's quite sad. I can pick up almost any Epiphone and know it's a well made guitar with no issues. But you can't say the same about a Gibson according to "everyone". You need to go through 5 or 6 or 10 to find...

What is the point to a top shelf Epiphone?

Not everybody believes that anything made in the US is better than anything made anywhere else. That's why people would by a $1699 USD Firebird V built in China over a $1500 US built guitar. The 2 guitars don't compare. You'd pay $3000+ USD for a US-built guitar that's equivalent to that $1699...

What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

I can see why you might choose the Epi over the low end Gibson. Especially if it plays as good as it looks. 👍 I want a Heritage Cherry Sunburst guitar big time. A Factory Burst? came up for sale the other day but I got outbid on it. The guy ended up getting it for around $450 with 3 scratches...

What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

What shop? I use a shop in France, IIRC, for parts because they have awesome prices called ADP Guitar Parts. But it usually takes longer than 25 hrs lol I got a Faber tailpiece foe like $40 plus $7 shipping or something. From France to the US! Since I usually don't need parts immediately, I can...

    NAD! 2024 Hot Rod Deluxe!

That's a good idea. One thing I did as a solution to me leaving my house and thinking I left the amp on was to use a wifi smart plug in the wall and them I plug my surge protector into that. This way, if I ever leave and wonder if I left my amp on, I can just cut power to the smart plug and it...

What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

2023 Epiphone '59 Les Paul Dark Burst Aged. I'm not up on my Epiphone models so I'm not sure if it's Inspired By Gibson or whatever they do with the 'Gibson Custom Shop'. It has 1 scratch on it....and a couple of missing digits in the serial number. And it has the 'USED' stamp but I don't...

    Tuner bushings lifting out slightly

I just used a dot of super glue on mine and it holds them in. I had the same problem. I tried building up the walls of the holes with super glue and then decided to just try and glue it in on the 2nd hole lol. That was much easier and quicker. This was on a LP-style guitar with Gotoh tuners. I...

Monoprice/Stage Right 15w combo chassis removal

Yea I bought bias probes just for that very reason. It makes me super nervous working inside this amp. The Eurotubes EL84 probe I ordered for this amp came in the other day. So I checked plate current with that vs what I calculated and there isn't much difference. 4 or 5 mA I calculated around...

    NAD! 2024 Hot Rod Deluxe!

So I think the issue with my stereo pedals has something to do with how they're hooked up - with one jack going to the fx loop of amp #1 and the other going to the front of amp #2. If I run them both to the front of each amp, they operate correctly. The volumes aren't interactive. I can turn...

    NAD! 2024 Hot Rod Deluxe!

Thanks, all! Well, that didn't last long. I've already removed the blue amp jewel and blue silicone bulb cover that I installed previously. It seems that I inadvertently left the amp on Standby for around 4 hours in a DARK room and never even noticed it. From like 1 - 5am. So thats the end of...

Well maybe a dark burst IBG Les Paul body. Crossing my fingers that it's still there in the morning.

What have you purchased guitar-related in the last 48 hours?

I started one of these at Strat Talk and a few other forums that ended up being pretty active. So I figured I'd try here. There isn't really a Lounge to talk about anything guitar-related and off-topic is off-topic. So I posted it here even though everything purchased won't be guitars only. It...

Monoprice/Stage Right 15w combo chassis removal

Lol you got that right. That is the main reason I ordered bias probes to take direct plate current measurements. It's much safer vs me trying to probe points inside an amp that's powered on. This way, all I have to do is use the probes for current and then take plate voltage to calculate plate...
