Never had a guitar with split humbuckers that actually sounded like true single coils, and there is always a huge volume drop off when you tap that coil. If I want a good single coil sound I'm going to use my Strat or Tele. I've actually started rewiring all my guitars to be a pickup selector...

I did half a dozen, only have two left. Gave away the others. First was a budget Tele, second a P-Bass with a GFS body and neck. Both have Toneriders in them, both are super lightweight. The piney is 5 1/2 lbs, the P-Bass is just over 7 lbs, it's got a paulownia body.

Online, usually Amazon. Been a size 9 1/2 since high school; never had to send back a pair yet. I do my research and get name brand shoes that are good for my feet and that will last for five years or so.

Just looked up his band on Youtube and here are a couple of videos. Named Dogstar. Sounds very much like my all-original band back in the '90s - maybe like a high-end garage band. Keaunu just looks like a normal bass player here to me, he's not the star and he doesn't seem to want attention.

Only thing I take personal responsibility for is my guitar playing, definitely not a serious bass player. I bought my first about 20 years ago to lay down tracks. Ended up playing only bass for two years. Now I just use them for laying down tracks or to rock out at the occasional jam session...

It's a marketing change, maybe 20 years from now they're thinking people will think of Epiphone as something other than just Gibson's budget brand. For Boomers and Gen X though I doubt we're ever going to get past that. Having said that I'd rather have a budget Gibson than a decked out...
