61 years old and currently a special education teacher working at a high school and going to grad school at night.
Mainly play electric guitar, but I've played bass, keyboards, and drums in the past. I grew up a drummer in marching band, and can still sight read a rhythm, but never learned to read notes. I've got acoustic guitars but I'd guess I only play them a few times a year.
Genres I play are classic rock, progressive rock and metal, and '80s metal.
Genres I listen to include classical, jazz, and the genres I play.
I've got a buttload of equipment. Gibson, PRS, Fender, Marshall, Supro, Mesa, Blackstar, Vox. GAS tookoff during the lockdown, finally simmering down now.
Tried singing for about ten years, figured out I'm not a singer.
Future band interests would be an '80s power ballad cover band with a female singer ala Roxette, a Scorpions or Judas Priest tribute band, or doing instrumental metal as a solo act with a bass player and a drummer. I want to finish my degree though so it'll be another year or two before I'm ready for another project.
Been in one gigging bar band in the '90s and a bunch of garage bands where we learned a bunch of songs and then it fell apart before gigging. Right now I play by myself about 10 hours a week and once every couple of months I jam with some old bandmates on classic rock covers.
Do the noises in my head bother you?
