Those are hunting rifles. Many can only afford one. So you have to be versatile. But usually we leave them in the truck for dinner. Mama didn’t like guns at the table. :)

Each of these. Considered taking the Schecter to the upcoming jam but, still needs intonation adjustment. I’ve not had it that long. Fellow I bought it from listed it as ‘Mint.’ It wasn’t. Trem was blocked and volume pot was dirty AF. It’s still a keeper and a looker. Cadillac will be my...

Doing your First Setup on your First Guitar (Stratocaster or S Style) Part I

Agreed. Took me a full afternoon. But once you get them where you want them, it’s set it and forget it. I keep the locking nut open for a few days till the strings settle in. Once I’m sure they are good and stretched I’ll lock it down. Then remember NOT (doh) to use the peg head...

    Going up a gauge

I like the heavier gauge on my hollowbodies. Prolly in my head, but I think it makes the top vibrate more.

    Acoustic-Amps

I picked up this Behringer 12 years ago. Never had a problem. I know, I know.., Behringer. But this was before I met all you fine gear heads. And yes. I do plug the mic into this as well. It can handle guitar and mic at the same time. I was just getting back into electric at the time.

Compressors - explain it to me like I'm 5. What are you compressing?

For me, when fingerpicking, it mellows an overly hard attack and at the same setting will boost a softer attack. I’ll keep the settings at noonish. Exept for the ‘level.’ That may be more or less depending on the guitar. I don’t get the rest of it either.

I’m a bit disappointed you don’t look like your avatar. Exactly. Email, text, gear talk…. Very rarely is it a phone.

What is the point to a top shelf Epiphone?

For 2000$ the Joe Bonamassa SG should be perfect out of the box. And I’ll never be convinced that the 8000$ ‘61 Gibson SG is 6000$ better. I’ll take the Epi. Oh, and I’ve not had GAS for long while till I saw Joe’s Epi. This thread isn’t helping my GAS.

Just one more step. I never considered choosing the ‘options’ tab (bottom left) when selecting a pic.
