    Gibson fake or not

@john john I think your safe that this is Not fake. It definitely has some years on it. That’s a beautiful patina on the binding. Some irregularities I see. -The pickups may have been swapped. Or at least the pickup covers removed. This is something some of us do from time to time...

    Gibson fake or not

I can’t read the numbers on the pots. If you want to post them or write them down your self you can double check the dates on these.

    Gibson fake or not

I doubt that it is fake. It does look to have had many changes. I start with the serial number. If I figured it right, it would have been stamped July 17, 1979. Does this seem accurate?

    Re-magnetizing pickups?

Another way to get it right… The pickup should be attracted to the remagnetizing magnets. Lindy Fralin has a short vid on YouTube. Not repelled. If your pickup repels from the remagnetizing magnets, it will demagnetize.

    Re-magnetizing pickups?

I think I found the info. The south of the pickup should face the south side of the vice magnets. The north of the pickups to face the north of the vice magnets.

    Re-magnetizing pickups?

Does anyone know about remagnetizing pickups? I have a few I suspect need remagnetizing. The dc resistance reads strong but they still sound very weak. What I know so far. Fasten the magnets on each side of a vice. One magnet to have the south polarity facing to the middle. The other to...

What did you do to your guitar today?

Yep. That’s it. I just learned about it. Thing is i have so many projects at hand. I’m swamped. As the 335 was certainly going to the luthier, I figured why not drop of the Schecter. I would have been months before I got back to it. I’m really trying to spend more time playing.

What did you do to your guitar today?

Dropped two off at the shop. 335 for a fret dressing, new bone nut, and set up. The Schecter for intonation on a Floyd Rose.
